V60 Brew Method

Notes

Based on the Hoffman technique shown here

Ratios

60g coffee / 1000mL water

Standard recipe: 27g coffee / 450mL water

Prep

Preheat

Once the water reaches a boil, use it to wet the paper filter and pre-heat the brewer.

You could do this with hot water from the faucet, but that seems more wasteful than using some of the water from the kettle.

Brew

Start End Action
START - Bloom Pour. Up to 3x your coffee weight
0:10 0:15 Gentle Swirl
0:00 0:45 Bloom Stage
0:45 1:00 Pour to 40% [180g]
1:00 1:10 Pause
1:10 1:20 Pour to 60% [270g]
1:20 1:30 Pause
1:30 1:40 Pour to 80% [360g]
1:40 1:50 Pause
1:50 2:00 Pour to 100% [450g]
FINISH - Gentle Swirl. Wait for drawdown to complete
